Taking the Quantum Leap
It appears that this book, written by Michael de Sosa, was published in both hardback and soft cover by McGraw-Hill in 1985 under the title Taking the Quantum Leap - Using the Sinclair QL (ISBN: 0070165785).
It was then later also released by Time Designs Magazine in 1987, as a large A4 ring-bound book (269 pages), entitled Taking the Quantum Leap - The Last Word on the Sinclair QL.
(Thanks to Mike's son for clarification over the two versions)
Written in Quill, the book forms not only an indepth look at the Psion programs and how to use them to best advantage, but also the QL itself - its hardware and its SuperBASIC, with plenty of routines and short demonstration programs throughout.
It even touches on ideal QL systems using the hardware and software at the time - and touches on the Thor and Futura computers.
