Jan Jones

Jan was born in the North Finchley area of London and attended Frith Manor Junior School and Copthall County Grammar School - now Copthall School where she gained A-levels in Pure Maths, Applied Maths and Physics. After her secondary education was complete, Jan worked as a computer programmer whilst also doing an Honours Degree in Maths part-time for five years.

She worked at British Gas and the Royal School of Mines before moving into the computing industry proper. Her last industry employer was Sir Clive Sinclair in Cambridge where she wrote the SuperBASIC interpreter for the QL.

Jan wrote the QL SuperBASIC (The Definitive Handbook) originally in paperback format, which quickly sold out and became hard to find, until reprinted by QUANTA. In 2014, Jan retyped the entire book for the Kindle and it is still available on Amazon (and occasionally can be found on 2nd-hand book sites).

These days, Jan writes novels.

Her Web site is online at this location.
